Roles of a Hangad member
There are five roles expected of each Hangad member. It is along the lines
of these roles that members are recruited, evaluated and developed. These roles
were selected as those which are necessary for all members to fulfill if Hangad
is to truly be a group of friends bound by a desire to help others know God
through music.
- An Artist - All members contribute to
the ministry as vocalists and performers; some, in addition, are instrumentalists,
composers, arrangers, and conductors.
- A Member of a Community - Hangad is not
a formal organization, but a close-knit group of friends.
- A Pray-er - Hangad’s music, programs
and directions are grounded and rooted in a group spirituality.
- A Worker - Apart from his or her Voice
Group, each member is also a member of a committee. These committees are designed
to enable Hangad’s ministry through tangible initiatives and activities.
- A Minister - Ultimately, all of Hangad’s
initiatives are geared towards witnessing to a larger community.
A growing community
Hangad expands its roster through a network of relatives, friends,
friends-of-friends and other contacts from various colleges (Ateneo,
La Salle, Miriam, UP Diliman, UP Manila and UST, among others).
At present, our community consists of over 70 members, around 25
of whom remain active.
